The story of the La Viña Cocktail
The La Viña cocktail is a delightful blend of flavors that has earned its place as a contemporary classic. This cocktail was created in 2009 by Alex Day at the renowned bar Death & Co. in New York City.
The La Viña cocktail is a mix of rye whiskey, Amaro Nonino, and cream sherry, with a dash of orange bitters. The combination of these ingredients results in a drink that balances the spicy punch of rye, the herbal bittersweetness of amaro and the rich sweetness of sherry, all brightened by a hint of zesty orange.
This cocktail was on my „to drink“ list for a long time. And I actually regret not trying it earlier.
