The story of the Hanky Panky Cocktail

The Hanky Panky was created by Ada Coleman at the beginning of the 20th century. Ada Coleman was the first bar manager of the American Bar of the Savoy Hotel in London, which opened in 1903. Coleman herself is probably one of the most influential bar women in history and her most famous drink is the Hanky Panky. She created it for the actor James Hawtrey, who indirectly gave the drink its name. According to Coleman, when Hawtrey tasted the drink he shouted „That`s the real hanky panky!“.
